The past few months have been trying and we want to thank all of you that have extended warm words and thoughtful notes, especially after our decision to not have in-person summer camp program this year at Yawgoog. We are truly grateful to have such a strong support of individuals and families who care so much.
Although we will not be able to move forward with our previously planned summer camp program this year, the key staff have been putting together an exciting opportunity for all those that love Yawgoog and those that may have never crossed through that majestic gate. We are very excited to share with you what we have in store and what we will be launching in June. Information can be found at: www.yawgoog.org
Enclosed you will find a leader of record update card. This is different from years past. We are asking that you submit two different leaders. One should be the Scoutmaster and the second should be the summer camp coordinator or committee chairman. Please send this back to us even if there are no changes.

Options for refunds and deposits are the following.
- Upon confirmation from each unit, the $250 site deposit will be rolled over to 2021. This will insure the same camp, campsite and week for next year. The standard procedure would apply if a unit wishes to change the reservation.
- Units will have the option of rolling the $500 reservation fee to 2021. Doing so would lock in the 2020 prices for 2021. Units would also have the option of donating all or part of the $500 reservation fee to Narragansett Council to help to support Camp Yawgoog to get through this financially difficult time.
- Units will have the option of rolling over to 2021 the hat incentive payment if made. Any unit that took advantage of the hat incentive program will still receive the hats that were ordered.
- For Narragansett Council Units any or all of your deposit can be transferred to your unit account. These funds will be held by the council in the unit’s name and can be used by the unit for future camp reservations and rentals as well as purchases at the Scout Shops.
- You will also have the option of transferring any part of your deposit to our summer program “The Yawgoog Network”
- Refund: If you request it, we will provide a complete refund. Please know that this makes a difficult financial situation for the council even more challenging!

Q: With the 2020 prices locked in for 2021, will this apply to any new scouts or Webelos who cross over within the next Scouting year? Or will they be subject to the 2021 prices?
A: If the troop elects to roll the $500 reservation fee over to 2021 every scout will get the 2020 fee whether they just crossed over or not.
Q: Units that took advantage of the hat incentive program and elected to have that rolled over will still receive the hats that were ordered”. Is that what you intended – troops pay one fee of $25 per scout and get two hats – 1 for 2020 and 1 for 2021?A: Yes Troops will get the 2020 Yawgoog hats embroidered and you will get the same number next year. If your troop attends next year with more Scouts that were put in for the hat incentive this year you will have to make up the extra.
