Camp Yawgoog Food Service Department Information
At Camp Yawgoog we strive to make a stay at summer camp enjoyable and possible for all Scouts and leaders, regardless of any dietary restriction they may have. We recognize the concern that a parent or leader may have when sending a Scout with a food allergy to camp, especially for the first time. If any of your Scouts of Leaders have a special diet, please fill out the form below and send it to us, prior to your arrival at camp. Feel free to attach a list of foods that can, or cannot be eaten, and any other pertinent information. If the Scout or Leader has a severe condition that requires them to consume a diet entirely composed of highly specialized foods, we encourage you to provide us with those foods and we will be glad to store and prepare them for you. We ask that all who submit a SPECIAL DIET REQUEST form meet with their CAMP’S CHEF Sunday evening immediately after breakfast to ensure that all needs are known, and provided for. Over the years, we have become proficient at handling certain diets in particular; these include (but are not limited to) gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy and egg free.
Nut Allergies: The dining halls at Yawgoog Scout Reservation are nut-free facilities with the exception of ALMOND MILK; we use soy/sun butter product in its place. Be advised, the camp Trading Posts do have candy bars that may contain nut products in them.
We recommend that campers bring supplements (that do not contain nuts) in the event that our menu does not suit their liking. Jelly and sun butter are available to anyone at any meal.
The bakeshop products that are served at camp are made on site. The cake mixes, brownie mixes, and cookie dough do not have nuts in them. However, these products are often times made in a facility that processes peanuts and tree nuts. If the allergy is severe enough that these products could cause an allergic reaction, please come to the special meals meeting on Monday after breakfast. There are alternative desserts available.
Special Dietary Accommodations are something that we take pride in being able to accommodate. We work with Scouts and families to prepare in advance. We pull a allergy report from CampDoc and provide these reports directly to the kitchen staff in the dining halls. If you have a specific dietary concern that you would like to submit a formalized request to ensure for a great week please select the button below.
Available for 2026 starting January 8, 2026
Special Diets are available upon request and communication prior to camp.
