FUN, FRIENDS ADVENTURE SPECIALTY PROGRAMS This program is a fun and exciting new adventure for Boy Scouts! They will have the opportunity to choose their program from five fun filled adventures. Scouts participate in the specialty program mainly in the morning and have the opportunity to earn merit badges or just enjoy Yawgoog in the afternoon. Specialty Program Fee is $70 in addition to the base rate. Simply click on the links below for our Fun Friends Adventure camp and when you register choose the buy up for $70.
LIVE TO FISH: WEEK ONE 7/1-7/8 & WEEK FIVE 7/29-8/5 Spend all week fishing for all kinds of gill bearing craniate animals that lack limbs with digits! • For beginners and experienced fishermen • Learn rod-and-reel fishing techniques • Learn to fly fish (participants receive a fly rod and reel!) • Visit the local fish hatchery and fish their pond • Spend half a day ocean fishing on the 100’ Gale Frances on Rhode Island Sound! Minimum age: 11 Week One: July 1 - July 8Week Five: July 29 - August 5 TOTAL AQUATICS: WEEK TWO, 7/8-7/15 & WEEK SIX, 8/5-8/12 Bring your bathing suit and plenty of towels. You’ll be spending your time in the water! • Swimming, Kayaking, Canoeing • Take a trip to Scarborough Beach • Canoe trek down the Pawcatuck River • Take a trip to Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park Minimum age: 12 Week Two: July 8 - July 15Week Six: August 5 - August 12
FIRE DEPARTMENT CAMP YAWGOOG: WEEK FOUR 7/22-7/29 Spend a week with Yawgoog’s finest, the Yawgoog Fire Department! • Work with Rescue Dogs • Learn how to operate the jaws of life • Visit the Alton Fire Training Facility and don full gear • Watch as we set a building on fire and watch Fire and Rescue respond Minimum age: 12 Week Four: July 22 - July 29
YAWGOOGPALOOZA: WEEK EIGHT 8/19-8/26 Come on back to Yawgoog for an end of the summer celebration! • Beach Party • Fun activities • Earn more merit badges • Finish partial merit badges Week Eight: August 19 - August 26
